COMPOSITE MATERIAL
The performance of Lithium ion batteries depends greatly on the physical and chemical properties of electrode materials. Nanostructured (mesoporous) materials have distinguishable advantages as the electrodes of energy storage devices. they not only shorten the diffusion lengths for Lithium ions and electrons, but also provide large electrode/electrolyte interfaces. Moreover, deformation of electrode during the electrochemical reactions can be suppressed, resulting in improved cyclability and capability. Our laboratory has focused on the development of advanced nanostructured (mesoporous) materials and their application to the electrodes of various energy storage devices. Through these studies, we have striven to realize next-generation/high performance energy storage devices.
